Most people dream of the day that they can stop working and do whatever they want – that they become financially independent and have enough passive income to cover their expenses without being tied down to a job. In reality, people typically do this when they retire in their 60s after having worked for decades. However, it is possible to achieve this even in your 30s or 40s and there are people who have succeeded in doing so.
So, what does it really take to become financially independent? Contrary to what most people think, becoming financially independent requires a lot of know-how and discipline and one can always benefit learning from someone who has been there and done it.
Join Brian Halim in this Dwelling Challenge session where he speaks about his journey towards financial independence. At the age of 12, his below-average primary school exam results meant that he had to be sent to the normal academic stream. Struggling to study and catch up with his peers, most people would have written him off when it comes to success in life. Yet Brian managed to achieve financial independence in his early 30s where most people are still figuring out how to invest or understand how money works. Today, he is the Head of Finance in a tech enabler firm and is the author of a successful financial blog.
This is not a how-to-invest session but is a sharing session that covers the principles required to become financially independent. Learn from someone who has overcome the odds and walked the journey towards financial independence.
