Most people have a general sense of wanting to give of themselves, but without defining their contribution, they end up clueless as to where and how to get involved. Some of us may also think of ourselves as having nothing to contribute, or not good enough to make a significant impact, and so we can only dream of making a difference someday, when we become more accomplished, more attractive, more influential, or more powerful.
What if none of this is true, or necessary, to start making a difference?
In this session, discover how ordinary people like you and I can make an extraordinary difference in the world. Find out what you really care about and why, and the motivations that would keep you championing what you truly stand for.
Get into action that inspires you and those you serve, create a community with those who resonate with your cause, and live your life being a contribution to the planet we live in.
What is The Dwelling Challenge?
The Dwelling Challenge is a series of events focusing on 6 important domains of a person’s life, and is specifically created to help people manifest what they truly want in their lives. Master all the challenges, live a powerful life, and be a contribution to the planet we live in.
Our events are thoughtfully designed to invoke self-inquiry that will help you get insights into the workings on your life. Based on principles that life coaches Julia Ng and Sim Wei Ping have used in their coaching journey over the years, the sessions are easily accessible and practical. These are exercises that work, as proven by years of experience of working with people.
1. SAFE SPACE
Step into a safe space where you can be honest with yourself and others. People who have attended our sessions consistently feedback that they appreciate the opportunity to share in a safe environment that’s based on truth, respect and real values.
2. MANIFEST
Transform your dreams and goals into reality with a genuine commitment to take action. Be bold in your creations and don’t settle, because only then will you be excited about what you can do. Make what really matters to you happen instead of leaving things to chance or circumstance.
3. SUPPORT
Keep yourself accountable through group support. Forge great relationships with people you meet in the Dwelling Community who can champion you in your journey and join you in your quests – because it takes courage, willpower and discipline to create the momentum you need to achieve your goals.
4. REFLECT
Take time to reflect on yourself and your life, to answer deeper questions that might require some soul-searching. Give yourself room to choose what is truer to you over things that others expect of you. Our workbook is designed to be your companion, with thought-provoking questions and coaching tips to help you formulate your own choices and actions.
5. TRANSFORM
Challenge yourself and do them all! There are 6 domains or series. They all stack up and when you add up all your accomplishments from each of them, you create something truly wonderful for yourself and your life. Be amazed by the person you become when you’ve completed all the challenges in all 6 domains!

“Before I attended Dwelling, some of the issues I faced were firstly my health, because I’m overweight and I believe that I can be fitter. In terms of conflict management, I have a tendency to avoid. I also realize when I make mistakes, my inner critic tends to be stronger than intended.
Since the ‘Discover Your Food Psychology’ session, in terms of my eating habits, I now do not take suppers. In terms of conflict management, I am now more assertive. “In the past I always wanted to eat fried chicken but I worried about my health. Now, I’ve started to be able to control my mood and my behaviors so I know what I’m eating and why I want to eat.
The second breakthrough is with my boss. In the past I always felt angry with him. I always thought, ‘Why don’t you understand me? Why don’t you listen to me?’ But now I start to think, ‘Is there any other way I can communicate with you so that we can solve this issue together?’ I see the relationship with him become more peaceful and we start to talk more.
The third breakthrough, which is the most important one to me, is that I started to face difficult issues that I didn’t want to touch in the past. Now I’m more willing to look into it and make changes.”
Celebrate the Challenges you have completed at our year-end Fireside!
Dwelling has been running since 2012 and every year, we have a year-end Fireside to complete and celebrate what the year has been for us. This Fireside can be held in a cafe, an outdoor location or even at a BBQ pit in someone’s condo! Typically it would be a place for people to gather and have a cosy conversation together.

The Dwelling Challenge Coaches
Julia Ng | Director & Founder of Dwelling Initiatives Pte Ltd | Professional Certified Coach
Julia was a highly sought-after branding and design consultant for 13 years, working with companies to develop their corporate brands, before embarking on her coaching career in 2003 when she added life coaching into her repertoire as an important component for a person’s and organization’s full brand expression. Today, Julia takes an integrated approach, combining her gifts and talents in coaching and design to help people develop their professional and personal brand holistically, from the inside out.
As a life and business coach, Julia works with entrepreneurs and corporate executives to create businesses that are a source of growth, profitability and fulfillment. Sim Wei Ping | Director of Dwelling Initiatives Pte Ltd | Master Certified Coach
Prior to coaching, Wei Ping spent seven years in the banking industry. Her effectiveness and efficiency led her to be consistently ranked among the top ten percentile of performers. Known for her problem-solving and solution structuring abilities, Wei Ping is also a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner (one of the two internationally recognized project manager designations) and has finished all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst exams.
In 2011, Wei Ping left the corporate rat race to pursue a more authentic and meaningful life. Through coaching, she found her passion – to help people discover what is really important to them and change their lives for the better.
As a coach, she is known for coming from the heart yet being grounded in reality. Through her coaching, her clients have been able to find out what resonates with them and create practical solutions that they are able to implement in their lives. Her clients’ achievements include starting businesses, doing charitable movements, building personal confidence, and improving relationships.

“I had a very clear realization that I had the tendency to keep the image of being a ‘good child’. After attending The Dwelling Challenge, I realize this doesn’t serve me anymore and I don’t really have to be a ‘good child’ my whole life. With that, it gives me a lot of power to say ‘no’ without feeling guilty. By saying ‘no’, we can do more, and it gives me a clearer mindset to see what my core values are. I can contribute more to people and my organization by saying ‘no’ to one thing and directing my energy to something else.
